Our Studio

Our Studio functions more like a design workshop than a traditional office. We emphasize design being cumulative of its process.

We engage in multimedia design activities to learn and create unique spatial experiences. Our design canvas usually starts with the physical and social context of the site. Every layer thereafter is woven into the project like a piece of fabric completing a cloth. Every new project for us is a new canvas with unlimited opportunities to express our experience in art and architecture.

As a team, we love our food and try to at least share one meal of the day and try new restaurants around the city.

SUMATH SHETTY

FOUNDER /ARCHITECT

Ar Sumanth Shetty our founding member started his practice in Bangalore in the early nineties. Ever since, he has built a magnanimous volume of work over the last three decades across Karntaka. His innovation and use of sustainable products in construction has gained him national recognition. His approach to architecture is people centric and is strong advocate for efficient use of space. He is deeply passionate of education and has active philanthropic participation focusing on primary education in India.

AASHLESH SHETTY

ARCHITECT / URBAN DESIGNER

Aashlesh is an alumnus of RV College of architecture. After completing his studies he has worked with various reputed architecture firms in Bangalore. He joined Udbhav in the year 2019 and ever since branched out of Bangalore and set up our practice in Manipal.

He advocates incorporating modern technology and hence drives the studio towards a technologically equipped station. He believes architecture is a unique solution and is often shaped by the physical and social condition of the site, one only needs to have the ability to listen to them.

SURAKSHA SHETTY

ARCHITECT / URBAN DESIGNER

Ar. Suraksha has been practicing architecture after her Bachelors in Manipal School of Architecture in different capacities. She has a masters in Architecture specialising in urban design and development . She worked as a senior project architect at a reputed design consultancy firm in Mangalore, during which she had the opportunity to work on various high rise residential and commercial projects for leading developers. In her own independent capacity she has been part of various government and private projects. She visits manipal school of architecture and planning as a design faculty expressing her pedagogical passion.
