As the name suggests, this duplex residence designed for a young couple revolves around the courtyard. The client having a permanent work-from-home situation wanted to construct a house, a little away from the town overlooking a forest. They wanted a courtyard used as a multipurpose space.​

 

Our design intent was to achieve a sense of harmony and serenity keeping a strong bond with natural elements. We used the natural elements and opened the house to the central double-height courtyard across a floating staircase over a Koi pond. The dining was placed in between the two. The front end of the courtyard was a small patio to welcome around the grandeur of the court with an open kitchen. The rear end housed a private entertainment room and a guest bedroom. The top level housed the master bedroom and a study room.
